Used the Excursion to inspect and clear the driveway of down trees and the widow makers - leaning trees caught in branches of other trees.
Entire valley was without power due to power line issues from high winds overnight and thus morning.

Curt hitch was delivered today. They do not pack these things well. Box was ripped open and then poorly retaped by fedex. Nothing was missing but there's a couple scratches, I think it fell right out the side of the box. Its a pretty beefy hitch, and it is rated 1800 lbs tongue weight with a weight distributing hitch.

What are you guys using to coat the frame? Por-15?

I shot my frame with some rubberized undercoating and used Chassis Saver paint (like POR-15) on the underside of the cabin floor when I had my tank down for the hitch replacement.

Exactly! was going to reply with this while reading the previous post. I like passing down tricks of the trade.

Ahh so thats "flyboy". Who do you fly for? Previously when I've ordered large metal items (skid plate for another vehicle that was just as big) they've come shrink wrapped in heavy plastic to a thick piece of cardboard and then that gets put in a box. Doesn't budge.

I'll try to get some locally. Sometimes this type of stuff is hard to find in NYC. There's certain materials/chemicals that a shop in the 5 boros is not allowed to spray on your vehicle due to environmental stuff.

Replaced number 4 and 6 injectors this evening. Hoping to be able to hook up the new camper Friday for its maiden voyage. Going to be above 60 for four days in a row here.

After 7 years my Cryo treated power slot rotors were done. Went with "premium" rotors from CarQuest. Well see how they hold up, I don't drive it as aggressively as I used to so maybe they will last.

I hope you have better luck than I did. After using nothing but cryo treated rotors for the Ex, I went with a premium rotor from NAPA and it wasn't 6 months and they blackspotted on me just like every single other non-cryo treated rotors that were on the rig. I pulled 'em off and put a set of cryo treated rotors back on.

I knowwwww....I just couldn't stand the shaking. I've only been driving the Ex 2-4k miles a year. That combined with a less aggressive driving style I hope I can get a year or two. It was the cheapest instant fix. My fingers are crossed.

Russ, those old cryro rotors just have some more ventilation now, all those little cracks will let the gases out better!
I guess I'm either very lucky or I really do drive like Grandpa, my stock (I think still the factory original) rotors are doing fine at 117K miles and that's with over 35K of the 52K miles of my ownership rolling at over 19,000lbs combined with the TT. It did get new front pads last year with a minimal cut on the rotors just to clean them up a bit.
