Removed a bird nest from the hitch tube on the drivers side. Lack of trees in this part of Texas must make for some desperate birds. Anybody use plugs on the ends to keep stuff out?
I'd been getting this intermittent CEL that would come on, stay on for a day or two, then go off, and stay off for a day or two. Been burning B5 in my truck, due to the cost of the B5 being 15-20 cents per gallon less than straight diesel in my neck of the woods. Last time I filled up my tank, I put straight diesel in it (due to it being 10 cents per gallon cheaper this time around) with a cetane booster and a fuel conditioner and sulfur substitute, and my CEL went out immediately. It came on once more, a couple of days after my fill up, but went out the next time I started my truck, and hasn't been on since (200 miles now) so fingers crossed.
Anyone else run across a problem with running B5 in their trucks?
I don't know off the top of my head but on some vehicles if the gas cap isn't clicked at least three times it will send a code. Part of the "evaporative emissions" system.
As far as Biodiesel goes, I run B100 in my 2002 with no issues.

Some of the trailer hitch plugs work well on the ends, those plastic square ones. I did that on my last rig and made up the slight difference with epoxy.

IIRC one is a 1970, yellow and pretty much strip trim. I remember seeing a pic from his intro post when I questioned his name choice.
Close, both are 72's my Gold one is a project car that was going to be a father son project but now it is just a project and the Midnight Bronze one my dad bought new in August of 71. It is the car I got my license in, and drove in high school and college. When my parents were moving in 2000 dad gave it to me. Please excuse the messy garage. BTW the Bronze Chevelle is in the only side the Ex will fit in.
