I found it was mostly the cpvc to the fixtures (faucets, shower heads, and mixing valves) that leaked like the hoover dam. On my one mixing valve I had used the rubber washer the cpvc fitting came with plus tefllon paste, then a layer of teflon tape, then another layer of teflon paste again in order to get the bishes to seal.
What a pain in the a**. 7 broken to begin with, 7 more broke while removing. Only six behaved and came out like good little boys. Easy out didn't work. 8 had to have nuts welded on and removed and 6 had to be drilled and tapped. Replaced all with high grade bolts. Don't want to do this again. Two hours to remove brakes, rotors and wheel liner the night before. 16 hours the next day to work on exhaust manifold and 45 minute to replace brakes and rotors. Glad it's done, but boy do I owe my buddy with a well equipped shop!
Finally got round to finishing this years work. Drivers side wheel bearing hub and U joint. Should be good to go for another 15 years.
I'm working towards getting the entire house switched to cpvc. Some of the pipe in the house from the previous owners is 1/4 inch and the pressure is horrid. I have to get this place nice for my wife
I believe you're looking for volume with the larger size pipe.
I'm not sure if you are calling the bathroom a water closet and I had a hard time w the pic, but, my point is in Oregon you can't call a bedroom a bedroom unless it has a closet.
If making the bath large means taking the closet of a bedroom out and that adversely affects you home value it put good thought into it.
I don't envy you. We've done two pretty good makeovers on houses. I'm burnt out on it. FWIW out west plumbers don't use cpvc much anymore but they use an absolute **** ton of pex pipe.
The closet is for the entryway and doesn't connect to a bedroom (thankfully). I'm just worried that someone will see that as out of place and complain about it. Personally I would much rather have a nicer bathroom!
Use either copper or pex and ditch the cpvc.... As soon as I can afford it for my house, the cpvc is going buh-bye...
Well the first thing I have to do is figure out the flooring situation. Everyone needs to give me some direction so I can move forward on that or I'm going to be asking the guy at Lowes for help and I don't think he really gives a damn about my bathroom
