Today the Ex took the family on a six hour round trip haul down the scenic highway 101 on the Pacific Coast.

Along our trek, we beach comber, dung for fossils, ate at a cheese factory and bought some new kites for those windy beach days.

The Ex burned through about a half tank of diesel, but not an issue to be found trouble wise. You should have seen my grin, when I blew past a Dodge with a big "C" sticker on its back. With that much pride in his diesel, I wonder what he was thinking when my 6.0 screamed pass him on the up hill climb!

I know, pictures or it didn't happen, but with all the fun things to do and sights to see, we never remembered to grab the camera and take some pics...

Oh well, maybe next time, and from the fun we had, I would be very surprised if we did not do this trip again!

I did that a few times this weekend, cept my Gasser is what passed those cummins on the hills. I just kept her floored and held 70 without issue but the 3 i passed all lost speed and fell wayyyy behind.

I filled the Ex up and washed the windshield of all the Bugs, Pollen, Wildfire ash so i could see to go to work tomorrow. I was pretty happy with the numbers, I got 8.3 MPG hauling my 4500lbs (ish) travel trailer loaded down with three people through the mountains in 3rd gear running 60-74mph

Then this afternoon there was a memorial day car show, so grandpa brought the '56 Bel-Air and i brought the Oldsmobile. Not long after this was taken one of our senators was walking by after making a speech and had her picture taken in the '56 and promised to send a signed copy back to my grandpa..kinda cool!

Well kinda... They're still just duct taped to the dash with a mess of wires sticking out the back...but they do work.

Also, EBC yellow brakes & power slot rotors at all four corners, blue spring, new fuel filters, and tightened up an obnoxious exhaust joint. Feel like I've been run over by an Excursion at this point but I'm about ready to get my tow on!

Just installed Moog ball joints, Moog tie rod ends, new front brake pads and rotors, new shocks, new front sway bar bushings, and a Hellwig rear sway bar. Truck drives totally different now.

No power fold or extend, but power glass, heated, and turn signal. Shouldn't have have to run any extra wires from what I read in my 03. The new OEM is all very worth it to me.
