Awesome. What is the spring setup you have in the front?

I changed my front shocks Friday, nothing fancy just some cheap Monroes and the difference is night and day. The old shocks caved in when I tried to pry them out with a pry bar from all the rust. I could also push them in with one hand sitting down and the wouldn't extend back after I let go... now it doesn't sound like worn sway bar bushings under my truck anymore.

Spend the day in the hospital yesterday though. Had strep throat 2 weeks ago and caught the flu last week... now apparently I'm anemic go figure a welder would have an iron deficiency

The rear shocks, center link and steering stabilizer will just have to keep waiting in the closet for now.

Not sure what springs are on there, but the spring mounts are Camburg long travel with custom fabricated shock mounts, limiting straps and daystar bump stops. 10" of travel

Vehicle details
i'd much rather be in a ranger then some econo box when a full size truck hits me. acceptable and marginal is better then some out there. Not to mention the chances of a real life being exactly the same as the test.

Anyway Tom He's looking for a pickup, a ford at that...so can you name me a different truck that is a compact ford? i'm all ears.

FordBoy67, it really is a sweet deal and a very nice little truck, my cousin does not want a truck even though shes been told by her parents that IS what she is getting we will see how it shakes out. Just reminds me i still have that explorer to get rid of also...its going to pay for my Vegas trip!!

the trac is great we had a '01 from new til '03, issue is a very small bed and the SOHC 4.0 is one i try to stay FAR away from with the timing chain issues and that is the only option in the first gens.

My step mom got into 3 accidents with her sport trac. 1 required a complete front end replacement and the other 2 complete bed and other rear end components replacements.
Pretty sure 1 or 2 had frame damage too.
Idk why the insurance company kept fixing the thing but she got away from every single one of them without a scratch. Impressive

agree'd but your talking a second Gen which is out of Fordboys price range from what i understand, that is why he was looking at older rangers/f-150s.

my Grandpa may be replacing his f-150 this this beauty. '08 awd 4.6 Adrenalin sport trac 50k miles.

If you say so Russ. Rangers can be as light as 3,100 lbs which isn't any better than most cars. And unibody crash structures do far better in most situations.

Anyway Tom He's looking for a pickup, a ford at that...so can you name me a different truck that is a compact ford? i'm all ears.
Whatever floats his(or your) boat. The Ranger hasn't been competitive in many years, and unless it's a steal of a deal there are much more capable small trucks out there. Other than it's Mazda clone there isn't a single competitor out there that didn't do EVERYTHING better than the Ranger.

They failed to make it a Ford therefore they didn't do everything.
