i have a 2001 f250 with the best motor they ever made the 7.3 diesel it has a diablosport programmer diamond eye 4 inch exhaust and a intake and i want to do one more thing to it before i have it painted. any ideas for a better turbo upgrade thanks for the help
If you want it to run better, sell the diablo programmer and get a custom tuned chip. They are a big improvement over an off-the-shelf programmer.
There's a number of options for turbo upgrades: van turbo, ATS compressor housing, 1.0 exhaust housing, 38R. Depends how much money you have and what you're trying to gain.
Have you had issues with your tranny? Some '01's have diodes that go bad, requiring a rebuild.
just wondering, how are you going to smog that truck. I'm in Norco, Ca., and have to smog mine this month' Turbo okay but ebpv delete is a no no. Thanks Chet

ya but im using a stock looking ebpv housing, it will look deceptevly similar to the stock unit, on a van turbo the outlet looks totally different, which probably would be noticed.
i will have to redo my ccv mod, but thats fairly simple. just gotta find the right smog shop.
ok. alls im looking for is a few suggestions of turbos that i could possibly put in my truck trucks got 175000 miles on a stock turbo its about time for an upgrade
Yeah, we know, that's why we're recommending the 38R.

Maybe he wants more suggestions Stewy, forgot to add this. OK, from what I learned here and people often speaking about, van turbo, GT-42, H2E, S400. These last three with a modded or proper setup.
