Any recommondations for removing rust (products) from the frame and other parts.
I just bought an 08 SD F250 4x4 here in Az last night and it came from Ohio. There are a few parts that have some rust on them and I would like to get them cleaned up and recoated with some type of preventer.
Thanks
Joe
POR15 Depending how much, they now have the stuff in spray cans, or quarts. Follow their directions and use metal prep and rust be handled. We've done the whole fleet and are very pleased. Be warned: plastic on the floor and coveralls on you, because once dry, it is not coming off. Www.por15.com
Rust bullet works great on new sand blasted metal.. Other than that it will rust again even if you needle scale the rust off. I never found any coating that works real well. Thats why I went to waxoyl..
Im in the same boat with the rust under the truck. The truck was used by the state of Iowa to push snow.. Been looking around for something to put on it.. Thanks for starting this thread its been great info
I spray my underbodies with diesel waste oil and let the truck sit for a couple days to drip off. Kills the rust and because diesel waste oil is so black it leaves a nice black look. Rust never comes back, it lubricates bushings, springs, joints, etc. It works great.
