Aftermarket Shocks

Just got back from 4 wheel parts, after getting new tires the guy down there said they checked my shocks and I am out of Nitrogen in my 4 front shocks. (running dual fox 2.0 w/ resivior) I told him to just put some in there and they wanted to charge me $800.00 for labor and nitrogen because they said they have to take the shocks completely off in order to do it because the shock has to be fully extended. He said if I take them off myself they will fill all of them for $30.00. Is this true or are they just trying screw me? And does it really need to be done, it runs a little stiff, but not bad at all. Can I run with no nitro, or is it a must, and will it really effect the ride that much? My truck is pretty much used for towing and getting to work, no crazy off-roading or anything.

I don't know, but they're claiming they want $770 to remove and re-install the shocks? I'd run away if it were me. You can buy new shocks for much less. If the shocks have to be fully extended, why not just jack up the frame?

Seriously buy new shocks for that price or go somewhere else. Contact Fox and ask them if their nitrogen runs out.
