Not much smoke??

ok guys, just another silly question but my son is driving me nuts to fine out. 2005 F250 powerstroke, crew cab.... mods so far are only the bullet proof egr cooler and oil cooler and "super chips" tuner. I know, I know,, waiting on another pay check and the super chips is history. I"ve already talked to eric.
I also know I shouldnt ask or expect my truck to blow black smoke,,( i saw another poor soul get scolded on here for wanting black smoke)
I dont want black smoke but my truck has very little at all. If i really rare on it i'll get some but is it because I got a sorry azz tuner or is not much black smoke a good thing?? The truck at this point is running great,, im sure i'll keep opening my wallet with truck goodies until I mess it up...least the wife says that..lol
No biggie really , just wondering why I cant find much black smoke for the son. thanks guys.

If your truck is running right you shouldn't see any. I guess if you've got a tuner you may see it, but I'm sure you've done enough research on tuners here to know what the general concesus is. Black smoke is the engine being overfueled. So if you were seeing it you're just blowing your money right out the exhaust pipe.

Tuner will help with the black smoke. As stated, that's just a sign of the truck running right.

my current tune just makes a little puff. I have tunes that will smoke out 3 lanes. I perfer less smoke.
more smoke is more wasted fuel anyway

i had a friend of mine that had a chevy, with a tuner. and he claimed to have a "smoke" mode. I wasnt sure to believe him or not since he is that type of a guy. He'd just as soon lie as not.. is this possible,, not that i'd need or want one,, is there a "smoke" mode on any of these tuners.???

There are smoke tunes. All they do is pump in the fuel and keep the boost low so that it's getting a lot more fuel than it is air.

What rpm are you running when you get on it? If you're already into the range where it makes good boost you're not going to get much. I'm running some old Innovative tunes and if I just punch it at a typical cruisng rpm of 2k, I get almost nothing. If a particular tailgater needs to be learned a lesson however, I just let off and then hit it from a lower rpm, and drivers behind me freak out and call the fire department, babies start crying, and people on the sidewalk bail out over fences/bushes in fear of their lives. Once the rpms climb back up the smoke clears and the motor gets back to the business of making power. I hate to punish my poor truck for the wrong doing of others, but sometimes it just has to be done...
