DVD enclosure replacement?
I've got a 2005 Expedition and the pull down DVD player latch is broken. The DVD player is fine, I just need to replace the latch. Any suggestions? The Ford dealership says they can't order the part, only the $1400 replacement DVD player.

you can find used dvd players on ebay for less then $200. I just saw a couple for $135 with free shipping and 14 day warrenty that will fit expy 03-06. just make sure that they have the same wire connection. they are pretty easy to remove and install. Just flip open the screen and look up. You will see 4 holes, those are where the mounting bolts are. I can't remember what size socket you will need. after removing the 4 small bolts just grab onto the plastice housing and pull straight down. It will take a little force to un attach it from the bracket. Once the player releases from the bracket make sure that you don't put it to far because of the wires. Disconnect the wire connection, connect the new one and push the new one into the bracket, tighten the bolts and your good to go. probably should make sure that it works first before you push it back onto the bracket. hope this helps. here's the link to the one I found on ebay.
