Axel Ratio ?
currently have 3.55 gearing and 32" tires (235/85/16s).. unloaded starts were from second and with the creeper 1st I was happy with the pickup and pull from a start performance of the truck, before the motor upgrades ..
I can get deal on newer axles (from a '93 F-250) that are 4.10 gearing ..
what would I gain/lose performance wise? .. MPG wise?
TIA
with the 3.55 set-up I was happy with the truck, using it for plowing my driveway and the miscellaneous load from the local lumber/supply house ..
.. I'm thinking I'll be towing a pop-up camper, including highway runs with some hilly terrain, when I get this together, but will still need to plow and make those runs to the home center for projects around the house ..
reading around and it seems MPG difference would be minor .. AXLE RATIOS
if I was to consider swapping the trans too, is there some thing better suited? (I don't do automatics
)..
