EGR delete
Now on to the point of the thread.
Our family business has a 2006 6.0L dually 4x4 that is a work truck for us. We have no need to turn it up any power-wise my father doesn't want a faster truck and my 7.3 is fast enough for me. We just want the truck to be as reliable as possible. It only has 32,000 miles or so on it but they're almost all either plowing or towing heavy this truck doesn't do much daily driving.
I've been told that the head gaskets on a 6.0 typically blow when something in the EGR goes bad and that by pre-emtively deleting the EGR system you can avoid blown head gaskets. Yes I know ARP studs are the best way but the truck will never be tuned and will likely have its factory cat for its whole life we just don't want blown head gaskets in it.
So my questions are:
1: Will deleting the EGR have any adverse effects on an otherwise bone stock truck? Do I need to get tunes for the truck for it to run properly without an EGR installed?
2: Will it, in fact, make the truck less likely to blow a head gasket?
3: Where would you get a kit to delete it?
4: What is the difficulty level to do it myself?
I work on my 7.3 all the time. I've done turbos, up-pipes, etc. on 7.3s but never more than routine maintenance on the 6.0 so I've got no idea how difficult it would be to do.
Thanks in advance.
BTW: I know the truck will not pass emissions without the EGR installed and is technically illegal but in Connecticut this truck will never see emissions testing or any type of inspection.

Currently no issues with the truck. Doing our best to keep it that way. I know EGRs fail and cause major issues. Trying to pre-emptively take care of any issues the truck may have.
