Turbo ?
what kind of seal is on the compressor housing and can it be reused i need to change my compressor wheel

There is RTV or some kind of silicone in between the compressor housing, I don't know exactly what is used. I'm not an expert on turbo's, yet,

Someone will know exactly what to use!

You should be able to pull the compressor cover, change the wheel and throw the cover back on and be ok.

IIRC it should have an o-ring in there all the way around the compressor housing. If it doesn't then you will probably need Ford grey RTV. does the OBS turbo have RTV sticking out? last turbo i had apart was an SD turbo and it was an O-ring seal. If yours is o-ringed, DO NOT take off the o-ring b/c it won't fit right again after you take it off.

Have not taking it apart yet but no RTV sticking out

In between the compressor housing and backing plate there is a thin plate sticking out

I will look at my turbo when i get off work Mike, but i'm pretty sure it's an o-ring like the SD.

the oring is from a previously rebuilt turbo, i got my kit from ron and my turbo had rtv, slammed the oring on there and didn't look back!
