I've got a 4 cylinder 2.3 liter Ranger and I was just wondering about lift kits. I'm not sure about the difference between body and suspension lifts and is my engine even powerful enough to handle a lift about 3 inches or more? I'm pretty new to stuff like this and this is my first car so please bear with me!
Thank you for the explanation. I will have to find out what I have, but I'm sure I'll need an upgrade on my gear ratios. This used to be my grandfathers truck and he never replaced anything like that just maintenance stuff. Thanks again!
Okay, so far I have found out that I still have the standard 3.08 gears, do you know if they are suitable? If not, I plan on upgrading in the future anyways because I have heard that it will increase the acceleration and top speed of this Ranger; I top out at around 70-75 mph. As far as the tires go I don't really know what is best but currently I have P195/70R14 tires. However, I'm pretty sure that I want a 2-3" body lift, just because I probably wont go off roading too much and it is way cheaper. Please leave any tips! Also, if you have any cheap performance upgrade tips please leave those too (like I said I top out at about 75 mph)!
Actually, I found out that I have 4.10 gears. I was skimming through my users guide and I found the axle code list and according to my axle code I have 4.10 gears!
