What does "Prioritzed" mean in the F-250 Order Process

I ordered a '11 F-250 PSD on March 6. After 4 weeks of hearing nothing, I bugged the dealer into calling the Ford rep to get a status. The rep said that it was "prioritized" and, if there are no parts shortages, it should be scheduled this week.

Can anyone tell me what that means with regard to actually getting the darn thing built?

Based on what I've read here, I'm figuring 2 weeks after building to have it delivered.

The dealer told me it would take 4-6 weeks to get the truck, but 4 weeks have passed and I'm just to "prioritized"! The dealer wouldn't speculate when I might get the truck, but said "the end of April" seemed "possible."

I'm not a patient man.

Not sure what "prioritized" means for sure but my best guess is an adjective used to make the dealer and customer think the truck is getting built soon.

I would be chopping at the bit to after waiting a month but they have two more weeks based on what dealer told you.

I think I would start calling Big Ford on a daily basis if truck not there by next Monday.

Can't wait to see pictures.

What trim level is it?

"Prioritized" = "Stop calling us, we have no idea when your truck will be built."

Unhappy

My understanding of prioritized is you have moved to the head of the line. But you mentioned if parts are available-from reading the KTP forums. the plant is shutdown this week because of parts shortages and may be shut down for another week in april for same reason.
Best of luck, I ordered mine on the 16th and mine is still in processing (as of last Friday).
best regards
Russ

Can I ask why you went with such a low axle ratio if you are planning on using it for towing?

Sounds like an awesome truck!

Your going to love that leather. I'm assuming that has heated seats?

I did a lot of research on that and from what I learned, the 3.3.1 with 18" wheels has equivalent torque to the 3.35 with 20" wheels. I ordered 18" wheels (both for economy of new tires and vehicle height), so the 3.31 seemed the way to go. The 3.31 also gets better gas mileage than the 3.35.

Hey Boomer - what did they ask for as far as the deposit goes?
Just curious what to expect - I've never done an order before.
Thx!

Hope prioritized means you have it soon!

Sounds like you just ordered the same truck as I did. Mine will have the 20" tires and I didn't order the sunroof but most of the rest is a twin of yours. I chose to have the dealer send my truck into Line-X to have a colour matched spray in bedliner installed when it's delivered.

It will be nice when it arrives, If it ever arrives . I've been waiting since Feb 23rd to get my VIN number with no luck.....

I can't wait until X-mas also

I looked back on my Vehicle Order Confirmation sheet and it shows "Priority: 15" Not sure what it means but it took 6 weeks 3 days from order to drive home. At least 3 days of that delay was caused by Allied (the transport company).

I went to three dealers. Two wanted $500 and the one I picked wanted $1000. However, it's been 4 weeks and they haven't cashed the check. Go figure.

I think that's different. There are a several posts on the meaning of the "priority" field on the order form. It's set by the dealer and it's the dealer's relative priority for the order. Mine's a 10.

I'm guessing "prioritized" in this case means they have aggregated the orders from all the dealers and set the priority going into scheduling.

I saw your post on your order and I was hoping I'd have mine in 6 weeks too, but it wasn't meant to be. Sigh.

Nice truck! I have 20" rims on my Nissan Armada and a set of tires cost me $1300! I decided the 18" would be just fine.

I'm also concerned over the height since I will sometimes drive it for business and need to park in a garage. With the 18" rims it will still be 6'8" high. That's why I got the sunroof, so I can look to see if I have clearance.

Ford shut down the Truck factory in Kentucky this week, so we're not going to see any progress.

I believe all dealers set (or should be setting) their customer orders to priority 10. That's what mine was set at. I didn't get a VIN for quite some time and called my dealer and expressed my concern and impatience. There were others here that ordered after me that were getting their VIN's before I was so I knew something was up. Dealer claimed they had plenty of allocation. The owner of the dealer (it's a large dealer out here in Pittsburgh) called the local Ford rep and next thing I know, they pass off a document to me that reflects my order was prioritized and upgraded to Priority 1 and had a VIN shortly thereafter. Once the VIN was assigned and I had a build date, the process went fairly quickly. Time frames for my truck are below in my signature. Good luck!

The header on the document they gave me looks like the following (the body of the doc has every detail imagineable about the truck, much more than the DORA provided):

Ordering Dealer Name:
Ordering Fin Name:

End-User FIN Code:
