When I was a little boy back in the 70's we still had 1 attic fan that would pull air through the house. We'd open up the windows, turn on the fan and you got a hard steady breeze all through the house. Houses were designed differently up to about 30 years ago. If you notice most homes would have a central hallway with rooms on either side. It allowed for better natural ventilation.

I remember back in the mid 70's around the time just after the OPEC embargoes. There were alot of apartments and some smaller homes built as "Energy Efficient" with small windows and low ceilings so that the A/C wouldn't have to work as hard.

Hello everyone, hope you are all enjoying the summer. I never complain about the heat, because in a few short months everyone else will be freezing there buts off, and I will still be enjoying this beautiful Florida weather!

Bah Humbug.

My wife goes through the same crap every year. She's originally from Pennsylvania but now has spent the majority of her life here. She always talks about how great it is up there and how much better snow is in the winter time instead of 70-80* Christmas'. This past year with the multiple days below freezing we had, she couldn't get warm enough.

I lived in Illinois for a few short months a couple of times when I was in the Navy. I tell her I know how bad winter is up north. I learned how to write my name in the snow( the girl who taught me had EXCELENT penmanship....) and I have no need to return to it. If my son wants to see snow, I'll turn on the Discovery channel around Christmas.

I'm with you, I prefer the winter months too, even with all the cold and snow, the heat and humidity is for the birds!

I'm talking about the "Florida winter months". I like the 50's to 70's we get down here.

And John, I'm with you there, I have no desire to experience SNOW again, EVER. I grew up in Illinois and from there moved to Breckenridge, CO. It was fun in my younger days, but I like not having to shovel that crap.

HI Bruce - I'm always hot.

The only snow I like to see is when we take a winter vacation for a few days and fly to Colorado or Canada to play in the snow.
