Smile What now?

I have a 1980 ford f 150 that I bought for a project truck. This is my first project vehicle and I find myself wondering what to do first. The truck does not run at the moment but its because of the battery with a new battery I can get it to start but I have to hold the choke closed on the carb while someone turns it over any ideas help

Seems to me a new battery is the obvious first. Next, rebuild the carb or get a new one. Change all of your hoses and at least check the belts. Change the oil, air filter, spark plugs, etc. Just do regular maintenance stuff and see how it runs. Work on the particulars after you get the generals out of the way.

x2. well put. do basic maintenance repairs one at a time, and you'll get er done eventually.

if it has been sitting for several years you might want to pull the plugs and put a small amount of oil in the holes then let it sit over night to re-lube the pistons
