I have a 1991 f-150 4x4 with a 351 sd fuel inj. I allso have a 1991 cougar with a 302 ho with mass air. it is a doner for the truck. I still need the car to drive across the US for work. It has a highway gear and get 21 mpg. Perfect car for what I use it for.
The abs on the car started leaking. so I pulled it off and the power boost is gone. A new power boost cost $1088.00. I know that sounds crazy but its true. A complete master cylinder with the abs and power boost cost $1500.00.
Is there any way I can do a non abs conversion using part from other cars? Its a 1991 cougar xr7.
That brake booster is less than a hundred bucks. I'm not sure what you mean by the abs started leaking. What part exactly started leaking? And No you can't do a conversion to non power brakes.
the booster for the car is $1088.00. I get this alot. The car is not just any cougar it is very rare cougar that is why everything cost so much. I don't want to do a non power conversion i want to do a non abs conversion using a master from posibly a 94 crown vic and some other parts from maybe a 92 T bird. just not sure what I need from what car. Maybe a mark7 would be close. It has 4 weel disc brakes with abs. It is 19 yrs old so it is new for its day. The master is the biggest one I have ever seen. I will try to get pics on here.
