Heated Mirrors

I've got a 2010 F150 FX4 that the window sticker claims has Power Signal Heated Mirrors as part of the FX4 Plus Package. I do not see a switch on my console to turn them on or off. Are these mirrors automatically temperature sensing? Or are they always on? Or did I get jipped with false advertisement?

I wouldn't think they would false advertise me since I knew I bought a great truck in the first place.

As described in your owner's manual, the heated mirrors are on when the rear defrost is on.

It's like that on my '04 Expedition as well and I love it.

Thanks Shotgunz! I totally missed that in the manual when I was reading it the other day. I keep finding all kind of neat features on this truck.

mine has a seperate button with a picture of a mirror. down by the a/c controls. and its funny i have never seen frost on a mirror before but i dont live where its cold so

Move up north and you'll see it. Heated mirrors beat the heck out of scraping them.

wimpy ****e (heh).

When you get frost on your instrument display you might find it an issue. Mirrors? takes 10 seconds to scrape.
Also, dog in truck guarantees you'll be scraping inside windows more frequently than normal.

Brings up an issue though.
I'd like to install an in-cab defrost heater and can't find an appropriate firewall hole for the cord. Rather ask you pros than rip up cab firewall lining looking. Could not find one on engine side. I'll cut one if required. Any suggestions?
