Another start and idle problem
Ok so you have probably heard these symptoms many times i know it sure is posted alot and i also know that i probably need a new IAC but i thought i would throw this out to see what comes back. I would bet my last dollar that my truck will only start on the second attempt. The first it cranks over and stalls to dead. on the second it will start, drop to very low idle and then up to what i call choke or warm up idle stay there for about 2 mins. and then drop to an almost stalling idle where it will stay. I would also like to get the idel up because it has been known to stall when i first put it in gear. If i advance the timing will the idle increase. So far i have replaced the plugs , wires, rotor, and cap, cleaned the iac (which was very dirty) , maf, and throttle body. As far as codes i am currently readerless. Other than replacing the iac is there anything i can check or do for free that could be causing the problems.

Read the sticky thread a the top of this forum, it has a link to Ford Fuel Injection that shows you how to read codes with just a length of wire and your check engine light. Without the codes all you can do is throw money at the problem through trial and error.
