I just got back home from a road trip down to my folks' house in CA. It was about 2,500 miles round trip and we were hauling and towing around 4,000 pounds through mountains and flat areas as well. My 2010 FX4 SCREW handled the load great and the tow haul was awesome in the mountains pulling my ATV trailer. We averaged 17.3 MPG for the entire trip. I think the RPMs shot up to about 2,600 a couple times on some steeper grades, but for the most part we were cruising at about 1,600 and 60 MPH. Tow/Haul works great. Pics to come.
All the way up to 2600, huh? JK. Mine has seen over 4000 a few times, just playin' around. This engine/tranny makes me forget the 6.0 no problem 17.3 is great mpg's. I am getting that empty driving rural roads back and forth to work, just under 4500 miles on her.
