The AC on my 2002 Ex is acting up. When I switch to auto 4wd, it switches to defrost. When I switch out of 4wd, it will not switch back. I have to shut the truck off to get it to switch back to the dash vents. Also, the rear Ac blows semi cold and the front blows cold. Any ideas? Thanks.
How do I look for leaks in the hub itself? I know there is an Oring in the manual locking hub. Is there another one on the inside? Also, will I need a vacuum tool or can I turn the key and feel for suction on the line?

Also, check the vacuum hose that connects to your front hubs. They are known to be a common problem (cracked/bad lines) when diagnosing vacuum probs like this.
You can actually upgrade the lines by replacing them with a better line. I think Bob Riley at Dieselsite has them.
Ok, here is where I am at. The vacuum pump runs continuosly until you shut off the AC. I put my vacuum gauge in the AC vacuum line coming off of the vacuum reservoir and it will shut off at 45 hg if the ac is off. The minute I turn on the AC, it drops and the pump runs constantly. I plugged the line to the PSVH so the 4WD side was not in the mix. Could I have a leak in the AC side? If so, what is the step by step on that?!
The PVH shouldnt run continuously, just cycle on/off to maintain vacuum. You have a leak somewhere after the PVH. It's also a good idea to unplug it till you fix the leak, otherwise is going to burn out.
