What's up with 3rd?
The transmission has had this "problem" ever since I've had the truck. It's not old (only about 40K), but it does have and always has had an issue with shifting into 3rd... I've heard someone talk about a lazy spring in their transmissions and it it'd fit what my truck is doing perfectly. It'll go outta 2nd and act like someone shifted into neutral and about a second later, it'll finally "thud" into gear. It's frustrating under hard acceleration and heavy towing... the towing especially. Hills make it worse... I loose alot of momentum and power. Also, the transmission takes it's time in fully engaging itself (I watch the RPM's slowly creep down) and I also noticed that the speed can increase while the RPM's don't. It's almost like something is slipping. Back to the lazy spring... a Tugger kit from TransGo might be my ticket. Any thoughts or ideas, fellas?

It could be the shift strategy of the PCM.I had a similar problem a few years back and John wood suggested a DP Tuner and it did cure my problem.Now my torque will lock after it shifts to third not during the shift
