Just bought a remanufactured steering gear for the 73 F250.
Question is, how does one get the bracket for the brake lines from the master cylinder on the new one. I know I need to take out the two bolts that held it on to the old one, but is that not going to break a seal or a gasket? The old one sure gave up the fluid when I took the bolts out. Don't mean to sound like a boob, but I sure don't need any more troubles.
There is an O ring on the cover. Just don't push up on the output shaft and the cover will stay put. Even if you leak a little fluid, when you tighten the bolts, the cover will seal.
