Please help need to know type of trans fluid for my manual tranny. 1989 F350

Is it a 4-speed or a 5-speed trans? If you ask for trans fluid then I assume it's the ZF5, which calls for Mercon fluid. What you can buy now that is comparable is the Mercon/Dextron-III fluid, but many folks choose to run the newer Mercon-V now.
