The clunk in my slip-joint is definitely gone. So that worked out well. Took a high speed freeway spin to verify the front end shake that I've been feeling sometimes. Then stopped in at Americas Tire and had them spin them. Out 2.5 oz on one side, and 2.0 oz on the other. Back on the freeway and it's a lot better, even on our crappy concrete surface. These tires don't seem to hold balance very long. It's only been 9k miles.

I gotta say, I've never gotten service anywhere that is as pleasant as the Americas Tire here. Friendly, competent, and competitive. They have a nice display of MB Motorsport truck wheels out. I take it they are a house brand. Do you guys know anything about them? I like the look, because they are low on bling. I don't want any flatbiller wheels.

Hello SoCal. How are we today? Seems a nice day, and I'm in the mood to get some work on the truck done! Time to mount the trans and see if I have any go.

If I have time, I might even go so far as to do a tune up on the family putt-putt.

Everything. I got a master rebuild kit, and replaced the washers, rings, seals, and gears. Just realized I'm missing some bolts, but I found them. I forgot them in my tool box, so I need to install them on the pump plate. Aside form that, I believe it's ready to go.

Mule was substituted for horse in a conversation between Jeff Bridges and George Kennedy in the Clint Eastwood flick Thunderbolt & Lightfoot.

And...mule certainly applies here as well!
