Quick Hello...

Howdy, my name is Dave and I live in College Station, TX (Got one year at Texas A&M left to go). I used to have an account a few years ago on this website but I forgot my information, so I started a new one.

I figured I would introduce myself here, as my pride and joy is my '83 F-250 "Dave Force One", which is currently undergoing a transformation from a 2 wheel drive to a 4x4. Currently it has a warmed over 472 and C6 transmission, and a sterling 10.25'' rear end. I have obligated to purchase a Dana 60 donor for my front axle by the end of the month, and I currently have a 4x4 C6 and an NP205 transfer case which I have twin sticked sitting in a buddies garage. This week I have a few days off from work and will be fabricating a 4" reverse shackle lift and a new transmission mount for the upcoming swap. Eventually this truck will sit on Humvee takeoff tires, but no larger because I still need to be able to put a gooseneck trailer on her.

My other fun Ford project that is on the back burner is an '82 Mercury Capri drag car with a 460 and C6. Unfortunately, I put this one off until I graduate and get a job as drag racing costs a bit more than home fabricated 4 wheelin'.

Anyhow, I look forward to getting to know more of you guys and contributing to/learning from the forum.

Welcome back, Dave.

Different continents, but our trucks are close cousins.

You did well to break away even for a while - I've been fighting a 'twice a day' habit since I joined 3 years ago!

My trucks actually both came out of Ca. - the '83 from San Diego & the '88 from L.A., but the F-Series models were built in Australia from sometime in the 30's (AFAIK), up until 96. Most of ours came from there in the day.

Same basic truck but with 351C instead of Windsor; & the 250 six cyl. instead of the 300 - no 460's; a few interior differences, & I think computerising was a few years later than the U.S. models.

Bit of trivia
