hey guys my brother is using my truck to move and i get a call and he said that he pulled out of homedepot and the truck started to almost like misfire it felt like. so he pulled over and it finally died and it wouldnt start back up for almost 5 minutes. then finally he tried again and it started and says it runs fine?? im leaning towards a cps on its way out, what do you guys think?? any help is greatly appreciated!!
My truck has shut off on me 4 times over the last year and a half, no rhyme or reason, like flippin a switch, bam dead. Fortunately I put it in parrk turn the key off, turn it back on let the glow plugs cycle and vrroom fires right back up. No codes hard or soft, oil level fine, diesel level full, before and after replaceing CPS just for giggles
Just hopin it doesnt do it on a road trip with the whole fam damily in the truck.
If you replaced the CPS with the gray one from Ford, you may still have CPS problems. Some on here have had issues with the ones from the recall. Clay may still have some Ford black ones and others have used IH ones. I don't recall if mine set a code when it hiccuped.
its still having the same problems this morning, but this time it didnt actually die, he let it idle and all of a sudden the rough running went away now its running fine again? and its been doing it intermittently all morning. what the heck is going on here? i wish i could have the truck to help diagnose it but of course it starts to have problems when hes a couple countys away moving...
