Distributer shaft clicking
Help, I've been told the clicking noise in my 98 Ranger 3.0 is my distributer shaft that operates the cam sensor and the only way to fix it is to replace it. Does anyone know if it is true? Thanks

Yes it is possible that a warn distributor is causing the clicking. You can rebuild a distributor but by the time you find someone who will actully do it and pay for labor and all the small parts you will need from ford you are better off just buying a new rebuilt distributor. They are not difficult to replace but if you are uncomftiable doing it, it wouldnt take a mechanic very long to complete the repair.
