Engine temp VS. Oil temp?
Hey all, i still have a puking issue wit my ride... It now is puking without even pulling a load.I have replaced the bottle cap with Ford bottle caps 4 times this month and they keep going bad. I have noticed a strong burnt coolant smell even when there is no residual puking around the cap and also losing about a gallon of coolant every 100 miles but cant find a leak.Could it be flash heating? Could the smell be coming from the head? (i.e head gaskets). I checked the oil and it looks good. I removed the egr/egc about a month ago and i thought that would be the cure to my over heat prob but it wasnt. Today while driving i watched my temps very carefully. I was pulling a 3000 lbs trailer thru town stop and go. The oil temp got up to 182 but my engine temp got to 202. i know these arent out of line but i was told the 2 temps should be within a close amount..... im saving money for Bullet Proofs remote oil cooler set up and im going to install ARP headbolts at the same time.... I am writing this for some opinions so i'm a little more confident in spending so much money on this next purchase. . . Ford installed a new oil cooler 15k miles ago. does anyone got ideas. thanks
