Ok so the batteries have been replaced....I'm not getting 12 volts at the ignition..it wont crank, if I jump it at the relay and hold the fuel shuttoff down it runs.....getting 1.19 volts into the ignition, nothing out of it, took the ignition out and checked it against the book it checked out good....at a loss.....voltage regulator bad maybe? Hope someone can help me out please. Thank you.
Start checking at the starter relay under the air filter for a fuseable link in the accessory wire

My fusesble was replaced with a 12 ga wire. I was really suprised that it doesn't show the fuse link in OEM 1981 wiring diagrams or the shop manuals. I didn't really need the info, I knew what to do, just suprised I wasn't able to verify it. Hmmmm.
