4r100 problems,HELP!
ok, 2000 f350 7.3 2wd. puked fluid, slipped a little in overdrive pulling camper home, cooled off and drove fine. changed filter and fluid few days later fluid was black but didn't smell burnt. drove ok with a barely noticable hard shift, pulled tranny and rebuilt with new clutches and steels.reintsalled, took off in 4th and stayed in 4th or 3rd or in 1st and 2nd if shifted manually. put in new solenoid pack. test drove fine. had to take off on emergency next morning, truck drove great for 50 miles, got into town, clunk-shutter barely pulled, manually shifted it home a couple of miles.fluid cooked, installed new converter cleaned solenoid pack,new filter, fluid, drove mile or 2, drained fluid, added new fluid.test drove, great through 3rd, let go when shifted into od, let it slow down eased back into it with od off, drove fine, got to top of 3rd clunk-shudder, nothing.will not pull, fluid smells cooked.anybody? help? anyone? please? thanks in advance!
