My dad just called me, i have to go pick him up, he said the truck has power but it wont crank at all. any ideas, im not to knowledgeable when it comes to 7.3's
Can't remember which fuse it is, but if the fuel bowl heater shorted out, it kills the fuse that is tied to the PCM I believe. Check the fuse for the fuel bowl heater, if it is blown, unplug the fuel bowl heater, replace fuse, and you should be good to go.
Ok, so my dad got ahead of himself and had it towed, well as soon as it got off the tow truck, it started, there are no CEL's. I started it and shut it off 3 times when it was at the shop, then went to advanced autoparts for an airfilter, shut it off, started it back up again and it was fine. no CEL's nothing, cranked and started great.
If I'm understanding the question correctly, the truck has power, but won't crank. It may be one more more bad battery connections - ones that occasionally allow enough current to crank, and other times just allow the accessories to run. Certainly, cleaning the battery terminals isn't a bad plan at any time.

Just got new motorcraft batteries, they whre cleaned and greased.
The altenator died and he let the batteries run down till they died. Im not sure if this is bad for a 7.3, but i know this can affect/kill the FICM in the 6.0
