Mods:
. Napa #6637 Intake Mod(Custom intake box can be made as well--Not required)
. Foil Delete (If you have a foil wrapped IC pipe)
. Zoodad Mod (Air ram for your intake--can feed directly into custom intake box)
. 50 Cent Mod
. AIH Delete Mod(Air Intake Heater )
. CCV Mod (Crank Case Ventilation)
Let me know which ones you want more information on. I can supply links and pics etc. What year is your PSD? If I were you, I would start with the 6637 mod.
Well yes. The only "free" mods are the zoodad and foil delete. But even then, for the foil delete, if you dont have a wire brush, paint remover, steel wool etc, you'll be spending a little. I suppose 50 cent mod is nearly free but its more involved.
6637 costs from $35-$60. Thats where I would start.
Good call Chase. Forgot about that one. I still need to do that one actually. But I am going to replace all the glow plugs first. Bought them yesterday
Glow Plug Relay. Sometimes people think that their Glow plugs are all shot but it is just the relay that needs to be replaced. Its about $30 for a new one. The GPR LED mod is a cheap mod that you can do where you put an LED light in your cab somewhere that lights up when the GPR is putting out power. So you know if that doesn't light up, then your Glow Plugs are not geting power.
oh ok yeah i got one of those too...except that LED light but sounds like a great idea...so i guess i dont have much choice but to go with a dp-tuner for an extra kick.
what opinions do you guys have on the so called turbo wicked wheel? and the turbo blow out valve as well?
I'm not super educated about the wicked wheel. But I was told that I already have one since I have an early 99'. If anyone can prove this right or wrong that would be great. And as for the answer to your question - Yes. The best way to see a VERY LARGE performance increase in your truck is to get a tuner. I eventually be getting the DP tuner. It is nice to have a custom tuner because they can program it to work with stock injectors, then have it re-programmed to work with any aftermarket injectors you might get. Do the smaller mods too. They help, they are cheaper, and they will keep you busy.
