Passenger battery heatshield
Just checked with the local dealers for the battery blanket replacement and one dealer wants $47.98 + tx. and the other $39.99 + tx.
Man are they pround of that 2 bit blanket. Think I will get some insulating material and make one. Wouldn't be so bad if they lasted.

Mine has nothing on the passenger side battery. Only the drivers side has a cover. What is this thing of which you speak?

I think you should save your time and materials and not worry about it Mike. Mine went in the trash about 4 years ago. I never could figure out if it was supposed to protect the battery from heat or cold or how it was supposed to do either--LOL.

It's supposed to protect the battery from the heat of the metal turbo tube that is about 1 inch from the corner of the battery.

So is it needed?
So is this blanket really needed? Also I installed a coolant filter and a coolant line touches the turbo pipe. Is this something I such be concerned about? Should I try and tie it back so it doesn't touch the pipe?

I wouldn't like the chafe issue alone so I would cut a section of the next couple sized hose up and slit it longwise as a protection sleeve
