Question New Builder Worries

Guys,I just re did the top of my 360 with a comp cam high energy 268/268 duration and at .50- 218/218 .Seperation 110 gross lift at valve .494.I also put a new double roller timing and all lifters, pushies that go with cam,.I am porting and polishing the heads and have a set of hookers on order.A possible mallory duel point ign. This is all hooked to a c-6 auto.I am looking for some good rumble and to wake up an old but in good shape motor. This is just a 53 ford f-100 to go back in forth to the bar and just show.My question is am I going in the right direction for what I want and any advice since the motor is still out and I can make changes. The cam and other goodies are already in the engine. Thanks dj PS- MOST OF THE ADVICE I HAVE BEEN GETTING IS FROM SUMMIT

That cam is a very nice cam if you get your exhaust ports flowing good. I wouldn't worry a whole lot about the intake side. Especially the bottom of the port. This should stay untouched. CJ (1.65") exhaust valves are the way to go. I think you will be happy with your setup. Very streetable. Like I said in another post. You will be much happier with a pertronix unit in your stock distributor. When the bottom end was redone did you drill out any oil passages? There are some modifications you can make that will make it last longer. At a minimum I would run a melling M57HV oil pump. An ARP oil pump driveshaft is a must with this pump. Summit may tell you different on the pump but I wouldn't listen to them.
