Banks IQ Questions???

Now that my 6.0 is studded, external oil cooler and a bulletproof egr...........I am going to get gauges and a tuner finally!

I am looking at the SCT Livewire or the SCT touch screen. I am also looking at the Banks IQ setup. It is an adjust on the fly setup with a nice large screen. Does the Banks IQ make any changes in the transmission when installed or is it like the EDGE Platinum on the fly tuner? Just looking at all available options for tuning! Of course I am not installing the Edge!

There is no way to tune the trans or the engine on the fly. You can fool the computer to overfuel for more power without rebooting the computers. Any thing else requires a reboot

For the 6.0, the best is to do custom tuning. Providing that your mods were done correctly, your engine may be protected much better against the crappy programs of the off the shelf tuning your tranny is not.

Stick with custom tunes, if you want to use another device to monitor that's one thing, but don't get one that doesn't handle custom tunes. Not worth the money and the hassle of tranny issues. I might add this would be tranny issues on an auto tranny that I would think is damn near bullitproof.

Pretty sure the Banks IQ IS NOT a stand-alone tuner, you have to have other Banks products. My wrenchman (i"m currently deployed) talked to Banks about it because I wanted it for a digital gauge pod. They told him it wouldn't even monitor data without other Banks equipment already installed. Don't know the ins and outs of why, but he said he talked to a rep directly. I ended up with a DasDAQ. And while I'm at it, X2 for custom tunes. The only way to go for a 6.0.
