Rad Replacement
The other day the radiator blew out of my old 1989 Super Duty with a 7.3 diesel. I did some pricing, settled on a supplier, and then removed the old rad and installed the new one.
The new rad fits like a glove, but there are 2 "bibs" (for lack of a better word) on the bottom tank of the new rad where my engine has no hoses to attach to them and weren't on the old rad. They are just capped off with red rubber caps that can easily be slipped off.
I'm assuming this rad is for a few different model years and maybe these fixtures would receive small hoses from a newer engine? Just guessing.
Anyway, is there a way that I can cap these off permanently so I can fill the system and get back on the road? There were no extra fitting that cam with the rad, so I'm looking for suggestions.
Thanks for the time. I look forward to your replies.
Regards,
Barry
