ok thank you. I thought I read somewhere that the sensor from the 2000 model was different than the 01-05 models

I think that's right. Good luck sourcing and repairing!

Still wondering what the sensor issue could be.

Swapped the inside and outside, still the same. Is there a separate harness for the outside sensors? i.e sensors #1 and #4?

Interesting....after reading all your experiences, no one's is like mine of course.

On my 2005 Superduty, all 4 sensors are clicking. Speaker is fine and annoying because when I shift into reverse, I instantly get the constant tone/alarm. Even with nothing behind me. I push the disable button everytime. No trouble codes that my scanner can detect. Wondering if I should pony up for a new PAM?

Thanks.

In your case I’m curious if it’s the result of a single sensor that’s working but over-zealous.

My first port of call would be to buy a single sensor (very cheap) on eBay and swap one out at a time (very easy to do) and see if it shuts off the alarm.

Only following this would I think about moving on to the PAM

Thanks for advice.
I replaced sensors one-by-one with the cheap ebay units. It wasn't until the last one that the constant alarm went away. Yea!
However, even though all the sensors are still clicking, there are no beeps when an object is behind. Uggh.
Any other suggestions before I replace the PAM?

Did you check the little speaker to make sure its not the problem as it was in mine?

For sure, the problem I was correcting was a constant alarm/tone immediately upon shifting into Rev. Replacing the sensors seems to have stopped that, but now no backup warning beeps at all. Thanks.

Dumb question, but just to make sure, is the parking sensor button in the cab engaged? If it’s lit up, that means the sensors are off/not working.

The PAM May be the only way to go after this.

Not usually; I used that button to turn off the alarm when backing up. Now it doesn't alarm in reverse, I haven't double-checked that button.
Thanks.

Nope; it's not engaged. Light is not on. I can turn it on, and back off again. All 4 sensors clicking, but no warning beeps when something is immediately behind me.
So before I had an over-zealous sensor (constant alarm tone with nothing behind me). Now, none of them are zealous enough (no beeps). Perhaps these cheap chinese sensors just don't work?
Thanks.

I'd be surprised if all four of them weren't working. One of mine isn't working, but it doesn't affect the rest of them from functioning. I think it's your PAM. Maybe that's the logical next step, although I'm not sure if it's an expensive one?

Well, turns out they're around $200-$300 and finding a new PAM is difficult for a 2005 SuperDuty. I believe the part number is 4C3Z-15K866-AA, but it's apparently discontinued. Anyone know what Ford's replacement part number is?
It's hard for me to spend that kind of money on a gamble that might fix the reverse sensors. They're handy, but not critical.
Thanks for the help!
