I called Amarillo clutch...Neil was not available so I talked to Roger.
He said he could sell me the clutch but could not install it this week...He seemed reluctant to work on the truck at all.........LOL
Cody....you left me a message about checking the clutch by pulling the inspection cover to see if any ball bearings from the starter were visable....I have a ball bearing in my hand when I pulled the inspection cover. LOL
If you can limp it down here I will do my best to help. My back is about broke right now from stacking hay but I have the tools and equipment to do it. My F250 is sitting in my garage with the front axle off so unless the idiot that has had his buick in the other two bays gets it out tomorrow like he promised we'll have to do it in the driveway. Let me know. We are about 10 minutes from I27 just East of Lubbock. It's about a 2 hour trip.
There is a place here that can rebuild your starter usually in a day too for a LOT less than a new one. He probably even has one on the shelf if you just want to swap it.
Also, I'm sure you could call Valair and have a good clutch overnighted here. I would sure prefer that to anything local. Either here or Amarillo. I'm sure it would be cheaper too.
Sorry I keep adding to this. My guest room is under construction getting ready for our next exchange student that will be here in about 2 weeks but my slide in camper is parked right next to the driveway. You're welcome to it if it takes more than a day here.
Thank you. First I will replace the starter so I can start the truck then I will work on the clutch issue. Thank you again.
EDIT: I agree with the Valair statement. I called a couple of shops here and nobody seems to have a straight answer. LOL
So far you are the closest to me and my situation. Thank you.
