4x4 shifting issues

4x4 shifting issues
ok i tried to search on here but didnt find my exact issue.
every thing worked fine on 4x4 yesturday. i had the dash panel out changing bulbs and i went to try the 4x4 to make sure it worked and 4x4 button worked and i went to put it in low and it went in and then acted like it didnt want to go in then kicked both 4x4 lights on then off. Now there is nothing i cant get even the relay sound clicking from under the dash.
Ive tried wiggling wires and tapping on the motor with a helper pushing buttons and nothing. Once in a while it will click and both lights come on but you can still spin the front drive shaft.
A manual shift transfer case looks better all the time. I just dont know what is all needed and how much roughly it would cost.
I really would just like to fix what ever the issue is with the electronic one. Any one know where i should start with this?

ok the circuit breaker for the trasfer case motor is good the fuse for the control module is good. no broken wires or corroded connections. I tried unhooking the battery for 10 minutes to see if that reset anything with no luck.
would a motor that is bad cause these symptoms? i thought that if the motor was bad every thing under the dash and the switches would work and just not move the motor.
any ideas??
