Auto Trans for 292 ?
A company makes a AOD to Y adapter. Possibly named Croan. Don't know yet if it is a car or truck mount.
I was confusing the AOD with the AODE which requires computer controls.
THe AOD requires throttle cable adjustment but it is not too difficult.
I received this information from PegLegRice and it is very dependable. He has a AOD in a Ranger that ran 12.22 in the 1/4 so that should dispell any breakage concerns.
Throttle cable adjustment. The truck has a rod from the gas pedal that pushes on another rod I had to make for the 4bbl edelbrock carb. There is no throttle cable in this old truck. Actually made the second rod out of a hanging file folder piece. It was the right length and had holes in each end. I will try to search for croan. If you find out please let me know.
Thanks

Your tranny guy will set it up Im sure; once set leave it alone.
I'll be waiting for a fullblown tech post on the conversion! Ive got a 312 planned for another project and was going to use the C4 but an AOD will be a great help with a 3.50 9" on the Interstates.
Ask your tranny guy what he thinks about putting the AOD on a flathead.
