Well, here I am again. Went out this morning and the truck won't start. Plugged in autoenginuity and it showed a code for lost communication with TCM. I can start the truck by jumping the started wire under the hood, but when I try to drive, the truck thinks I have it in 3rd. Reverse works, so does nuetral and park, but shift to 1st or second and there is no change, still drives like it is in 3rd gear. I assume it may be a faulty TCM but am hoping for something much more simple. Is it possible for the truck to run perfectly fine one day, shut it off and all of the sudden have this type of problem? Thanks in advance for any offerings of help.
here is a bit more info. In continued testing and checking, I found that I have neither power nor ground to fuse #31 which is listed in the book as "transmission range sensor" for the deisel
The autoenginuity cannot create a connection with the TCM, it is saying that their is a network issue?????
CORRECTION: this fuse does in fact go to "hot" when the key is in the start position. I also noticed that I do not get any back up lights when the truck is shifted to reverse. Not sure if this is related or not

Reason: re-checked the fuse
