COP Spark plug boots

Since I've had my spark plugs about a year and they are still stored in their boxes, waiting installation, figure that I'd better install new boots as well. My dealer has the Motorcraft 12A402 and wont give me a "break" on their $10/each cost so, being a retired OF and 'thrifty' am now questioning if the NAPA Belden brand BEL 702460 @ $5.49 is a good product. It has been a good product in the past but with sooooo much being made in China now am a bit reluctant. Or possibly the Standard SPP87 @$3.72 each that Rock Auto sells (it used to be the same parts as Belden)??

These are for my AVATAR truck, an '06 F350 V10

Go with the Rock Auto part. But then I'm cheap!

You could save yourself $60 and get the cheaper ones. But, if one or more fails you will probably kick yourself for not spending the extra money for OEM. Not that OEM can't fail or is necessarily better, but you know Murphy's Law and all.

So far my Standards are doing the jobs as designed. A product is only as good as it's installer. Take your time and push them all the way on. You'll see what I mean when you take the boot off of the coil. There is a blade connection that the wire in the boot pushes over. Be deiberate, no need to "gorilla" it. You'll see what I am talking about.

I have the Standard-brand in my V10 for the past, what, 5 years now? I think they are decent

I got "jobber" on the Standard ones from a local auto parts store I deal with, and paid $3 each.

They were "ever-so-slightly" different from the stock ones.

I have an opinion about Motorcraft that may be inappropriate, but ... if the original parts sucked, why go back to the same manufacturer again?

Use dielectric grease at the tip of the boot where it seals to the plug, where the boot seals to the COIL, and around the area where the boot seals to the HEAD.

I have Niehoff boots on mine for over 50k. So far, so good. By 100k some of the originals had turned soft like sponge rubber. We'll see what the Niehoff's look like in another 50k.
