I have an 85 F-150 on which the driver's side power window motor has died. I also have an 86 Town Car (junk parts car). I was wondering if the motors were the same. I went to autozone.com & the part # matched with the rear DS motor of the Lincoln, but I don't know how much I trust them. Does anyone know if this will work or can anyone tell me where I might find Ford part #s? I would hate to go to the trouble of removing this to find out it won't work. Thanks for any info.
according to whats wrong with the motor it can probally be repaired for less than 20 bucks and a few hours of your time. it may simply need the bushings or as they are called a peanut kit replace and be good as new
I will try the Lincoln motor being as I already have it (I may save $20), but if I find out it is bad, I will try to rebuild mine. Thanks for the input.
I know the dealer i work for sells them to do in shop repairs or to customers but i guess napa should sell them. i really havent purchase them any where else
I work on power windows for a living and I do know that the back door window motor out of the towncar will work. The front doors will not. They used a complety different motor for the minivent window regulators.
what would make just the left power window on a 2000 ranger not work while the right one does work? It is not a fuse or a relay because I have checked them. can anyone give me some help down here in Tennessee? thanks

The back door motors will work, the front door motors will not.
i have one door with a electric window and one standard. both of them are 87-91. so if the towncars back doors motor work on the 80-86 then they will work on 87-91, maybe the steering wheel might bolt on also.

Yes, the window motors will work and I do think the steering wheel will also but I'm not sure. All you can do is try, I think the column is the same.
