78 F250 problem

Hey i am new to these forums.I have a 1978 f250 5.8m 4 speed 4x4. Well today i figure i would install the light that came with the sunpro temperature tack.Had it all hook up and it worked fine.I was about to leave and tryied to start it up but it didnt start. And i knew it was acting weaird becuase it makes a noise when its about to start and the radio didnt even want to turn on at all.I would check the fuses but i dont know what any of them do.I dont think its the starter.I wounder if i did damage by not connecting the bare wire to the battery.I could use some help on this one thanks.

Unhook any wires you attached and see if this corrects your problem. Next pull each fuse, one at a time, and look to see if the wire inside is burned in two and replace as necessary.

Clean your battery terminals. If still no success jump start your truck.
