What else is left?

No Political,Sexual or Religious topics please.? I beg to ask the question. What else is left for mature adults to converse? Not that I am a mature adult. Just wondering.

This isn't my site so I don't make the rules, but I will follow them. Just seems like we're all adults who should be able to discuss whatever we want. I don't think feelings will get any more hurt discussing politics than they will discussing Fram oil filters or gas vs. diesel.

You can. Become a member for a mere $20 for one year or $60 for three years, get a bumper sticker and a T-shirt and join the club. This is where the adult conversations take place. Oh and by being a member, you don't get any ads at all.

Well, just looking at the first page, I see topics about hunting, insane trail bike riding, Facebook, military life, creative writing, skunks, a picture contest, stolen music equipment, pre-proposal blessings, how to paint galvanized steel siding, a wrecked sports car, people who text, iphones, music videos, freezing bread, real estate attorney's and more. And that's just the first page What more do you want?

It's not as free as you think. This site is owned by someone or a group of someones, so we have to play by their rules.

Gun control, law enforcement, and cellphone using drivers usually solicit a lively conversation here.

Each of those topics can be labeled as political because they all involve laws, which are made by lawmakers, who are elected officials.

I just happen to think it's silly that only paying members are allowed to discuss those topics. But, as I stated earlier, it's not my site and I will play by the rules. I just won't pay to play.

BTW, can paying members have anything they want in their sig line?

FTE doesn't guarantee equal-outcome....only equal opportunity. Pay the $20, become a member, and you're my equal. Until then, you're my inferior......Now go make me a sandwich, stat!

I think that this site made a great compromise with the club. They wanted bucks, and people wanted a place to discuss more controverisal issues. If I can ever get over my innate frugality ( ok I'm cheap), I'll join in.

I would imagine that they still enforce the basic rules of politeness in the club. It's something that really makes this place enjoyable. In contrast, I've tried out a local sports forum. They have 4 or 5 main points, and anyone who disagrees is piled on profanely and mercilessly. It's just no fun.

As for what to discuss? Search through the older pages -- you'll be amazed at the interesting stuff that you'll find.

OK. I get it. This is a privately owned site and the owner makes the rules. Pay the bucks and be part of the club. Thank you for this great site that I do not have to pay for. I might be slow, that is what my dear old Dad always told me, but I ain't dumb.

You wouldn't like what I put between the bread, sir!
