Slow into drive?
I have an 04 F250 5.4l automatic with 120,000 miles. I've owned it for about 6 months and know alot of history on the truck.
I've noticed latley that when I take off from a stop light it will act like it has a stall torque conveter. Yesterday I put on my new exhaust and took it for spin around the block and I left it in first gear so I could hear it, I didn't over rev it or anything like that and the truck was already warmed up. After letting it sit for a while I jumped back in it and went to take off and nothing happened for about 5 second and then it finally started moving. Now anytime I get in it after it sits a while it does the same thing! But, when I put it reverse it kicks in right away and feels normal, and after it is warmed up it seems to work fine.
I checked the level and it looks good. (MAYBE a tad high?)

I just took the truck a pretty long drive around the area and it acted like nothing was ever wrong. I drove the interstate for a while and drove around town a bunch. I even found a few stop signs on hills and the truck didn't miss a beat!
I wounder what cuased it to act weird last night and this morning!?

So my thoughts were:[LIST=1]
low fluid (you checked it)
old/burnt fluid
tranny starting to wear out (I know only 120K, mine had 137K and was fine)
torque converter starting to fail
also I think there's a pressure modulator or valve that could be going bad or clogging
I think I would just have to wait and see when it happens again.
