stuck turbo and 200 miles from home

I have an 04 6.0 powerstrock. Right now its a power joke. Yesterday I couldn't drive more than 55mph. I discovered that it was a blown intercooler hose. I replaced the hose and it ran great for about 10 miles. Now when I get off the throttle It sounds like a "fluffing" sound. someone told me the turbo was sticking. does this sound correct and if so what can i do to fix it besides replacing the turbo. Can it be driven like this back home. please help.

Sounds right...you may be able to clean the vanes to fix the problem. There's a thread on how to do that in the tech folder.

If you drive it easy and don't get on it you should be able to get home.

Is there a way to clean the turbo w/o removing it from the truck?

Do you let off quickly while it is make a significant amount of boost? Like a blow of valve what you probably hear is the extra boost being dumped back into the intake. Do you get the sound all the time even when letting off slightly or just for a moment after you let off quickly?

What's the status of your EGR valve? Plugged in, unplugged or deleted? If plugged in, I would unplug and see what happens.

emmmm there is an issue with vxcf9 flash do not unplug the valve your cooling fan will not work.

the reason you lost the boot was most likly do to overboost.
depending on how far from home you are really depends on weather I would drive it or not.
the risk you are taking is headbolt failer from excessive boost. i.e failed headgaskets.
