Injector Issue - Maybe
When it's cold (the motor) and if I drive it within 5-10 minutes of cranking it up it has been running weird. I work about a mile from a freeway, so when I go to lunch it's not uncommon to just hop on it and shoot across town. When the truck is 'cold' and I get on the freeway (in OD pulling a slight grade) it will 'buck' (the only similar feeling is like a 5.4 I had when one of the coil packs was going out) if I give it just a little throttle (not enough to kick down). If I give it enough to kick down it runs fine in the lower gear (or at least it feels like it does). After driving it 5-10 miles it doesnt do it anymore.
Is this an injector going bad?
Replaced the fuel filters about 2k miles ago and just did an oil change about 200 miles ago. I was getting a WIF light, but I cleaned that out (and inside where the sensor is). I havent gotten the WIF light since.
This has happened for the last few tanks of fuel. I dont drive the truck every day, but at least twice a week.
I have used Seafoam for years in everything. Currently I treat the motor oil and fuel in my VW Jetta TDI, ZO6, X, Scarab, etc. on a regular basis with Seafoam.
I have an 04 X 6.0L with Royal Purple synthetic 20W-50 oil and just did a 1500 mile trip from MD to MI and back. Before I left I put two cans of Seafoam in my fuel tank (44 gal tank) and 1.5 cans (24 oz.) in my oil. I had 6000 miles on the oil before I left for MI. I run my motor oil until I cannot read the level marks on the dipstick or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. FYI - I have never not been able to read the dipstick marks before 10,000 miles.
And as you can see in my signature my X has significant mods which put more stress on the turbo, injectors and tranny. In 90,000 miles I have never had a turbo degrade or failure, a fuel injector "stiction" issue or tranny issue (I use RP synthetic ATF). I attribute that to RP lubricants and Seafoam.
Also, many injector repair shops use a mixture of Seafoam and diesel fuel or straight Seafoam to clean and test injectors after repair.

Yeah, a good OBDII reader should pull any codes. However, if it is not an injector electrical problem, i.e. injector connector or FICM problem, it will not pop an injector code. So if you have oil "stiction" or fuel issues, it will not pop a code.
